Copper LN2 Evaporator Cooling Pot Base - aka "The Phantom":

The base:

This pot was initially designed for the AMD processors that do not exhibit the cold bug. We used the provided processor profiles from AMD to design the base profile for maximum cooling efficiency. Only the highest grade coppers are used, 99.99% pure copper! The copper is very expensive, and actually accounts for 80% of the product cost -- But it's worth it! If you do not understand why this is important, stop by our FAQ page for the reasoning and other information. Here are some features:

  • Complete design is Modular for future upgrades or various configurations
  • Base materials are Pure Copper, and it is used only where necessary for the focused cooling the processor.
  • Base design is computer optimized using AMD supplied heat profile specifications.
  • Base profile is computer optimized for the flow of the LN2 fluid during the boiling process, and the proper escape of the Nitrogen Gas.
  • Base is compatible with a variety of our reservoirs

The Reservoir:

The reservoir plays VERY little part in the overall cooling of the processor. It, in actuality, can only hurt in the sense that it just wastes LN2 due to heat losses out the side of the reservoir. I'm sure you can think of other uses for LN2 than cooling the room? We suggest using materials other than the conductive metals such as copper or aluminum. In general, we suggest using MUCH less conductive materials for the reservoir! After all, that's why most people insulate the reservoir to begin with! We offer a variety of materials for the reservoirs.  Reservoirs can be made in any length, the standard reservoir is 6 inches (15.2cm) long.  For every inch of reservoir, you get one cup of fluid capacity.   In most cases, 6 inches is plenty for volume and splash resistance.

  • PVC - PVC Schedule 80 is the most cost effective material. It remains somewhat durable at temperature, it's inexpensive, and it's quick to produce. If you like to hit your reservoir with hammers, or drop it from tables while it is cold -- do not select this option.
  • Aluminum - Aluminum is less cost effective than the PVC, but it more durable at a wider range of temperatures. It is horrible to machine as it is an extrusion and is often not completely round. This causes us to have to do many machine processes to make it right for use. Aluminum is more durable than the PVC, but expect to use more LN2 to achieve the same results.
  • Poly Carbonate - PolyCarb is very fun to use from the point that it is both insulating and clear. In general, it tends to be produced more "round" than the aluminum extrusion -- thereby less costly to machine. The single-wall poly carb will frost over quickly from a visual aspect. We offer both single and dual wall for that reason. We will link to photos of this option in use as soon as possible.
